Our interiors are a blend of Continental old world charm with the earth of Connemara in the surroundings, with local Fine Art in house.
We seek to combine 20 years of wine industry experience and teaching with our passion for food and time honoured hospitality to bring a special experience to locals and visitors alike.
Anke is originally from Germany and is a professionally trained chef turned Sommelier, who worked in Top Relais & Chateau establishments throughout Europe including Germany, Switzerland and England. Since settling in Ireland in 2008 she has been working for renowned addresses like the Cliff House Hotel in Co Waterford, Drury Buildings , The Dean & the Devlin Hotel in Dublin.
Anke is a qualified Sommelier & Wine Educator for WSET. She has a natural curiosity and passion for wines from all corners of the globe, however her go-to wines are Riesling & Pinot Noir, often biodynamic or organically cultivated.

Hannah has been a wonderful host to our guests since the Lamplight opened in 2019. Originally from Charlotte in North Carolina, she fell in love with Connemara at first sight. Food & Wine being two of her many passions.
Artisan food with Head Chef Egon , expertly blending the Scandinavian cooking styles of his roots with 20 years of living and cooking with wild Connemara produce & Seafood. Egon is also the master smoker & curator in chief of the FIRE & WINE by Lamplight evening menu.
Our eclectic Wine selection is focused on handcrafted wines based on sustainable, organic and biodynamic philosophies. Wine has become so diverse in the past decades that we offer an exciting tour around the world, from iconic regions like Burgundy, Piedmont or Rioja to emerging regions like Central Otago in New Zealand, Oregon, to Tenerife and Mallorca.
